Seroprevalence of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus and Factors Associated with the Serological Status in Dairy Cattle in Western Region of Thailand

چکیده
Background: Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) causes productive losses and reproductive failure in dairy farms. This study defined the seroprevalence determined factors associated with BVDV infection cows western region of Thailand. Methods: Blood samples were collected from 732 30 randomly selected herds. The antibody was detected using a commercial indirect ELISA kit (IDEXX®BVDV Total Ab, IDEXX Laboratories Inc., Maine, USA). A questionnaire about herd management used to collect data via interviews farm owners. variables identified by Fisher’s Exact Test (p less than 0.20) then analyzed multivariate logistic regression. Result: Individual prevalence 36.89% (270/732), while 93.33% (28/30). Significant risk based on univariate analysis as area, size, feeding type, history abortion, pen calving, biosecurity pet 0.05). Biosecurity no disinfectant (p=0.02) (OR, 1.32; CI 95%, 1.038-1.669), (p=0.03) 4.72; 1.142-19.501) abortion (p=0.00) 0.02; 0.004-0.140) significant, regression analysis. Pen calving (p=0.01) 0.24; 0.084-0.667) protective factor for infection. cattle herds distributed throughout

Persistent bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infection in cattle herds
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a significant pathogen associated with gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive diseases of cattle worldwide. It causes continuous economic losses to the cattle industry primarily due to decreased reproductive performance. The ability of virus to cross the placenta during early pregnancy can result in the birth of persistently infected (PI) calves. P...

15 صفحه اولThe first study of bovine immunodeficiency virus (BIV) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) co- infection in industrial herds of cattle in two provinces of Iran
BIV is a well-known bovine immunosup-pressive cause, but its pathogenesis has not been well characterized. It seems that it is possible that cofactors such as co- infection with other bovine viral pathogens may play a role in enhancing the pathogenesis of BIV infection; BVDV also has immunosuppressive effects. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was determination of possible correlation between BI...
